Awery Aviation Software, a provider of aviation software and the CargoBooking digital air cargo platform, has named Cornelia Korsch as its global development director. Korsch joins from rival WebCargo by Freightos, where she spent over three years, most recently as account manager. Her primary responsibilities will include onboarding new airlines and capacity, as well as boosting platform usage among freight forwarders.
Korsch brings more than 30 years of air cargo experience to the role, including over two decades at Cargolux and seven years at AirBridgeCargo Airlines, where she held commercial positions and focused on digital sales in Europe. Her background is expected to help CargoBooking strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive air cargo booking technology market.
Commenting on her appointment, Korsch expressed enthusiasm about working with the air cargo community to expand customer reach and maximize digital distribution opportunities. Awery CEO Vitaly Smilianets highlighted her deep understanding of airline requirements, calling it invaluable as CargoBooking seeks to add carriers and capacity.
This move follows Awery's recent recruitment of Gianluca Marcangelo as EVP global sales, signaling the company's commitment to expanding its commercial team. While this news pertains to air cargo technology, its implications for cross-border trade are significant, as digital booking platforms facilitate smoother customs declaration and documentation processes, benefiting importers and exporters who rely on efficient air freight solutions.
